Ancient Spirit, Modern Edges: The Gond Tiger Arrives
Some ideas feel destined to meet. A centuries-old tribal art form and the sharp, faceted geometry of low polygon design are one of them.
At Rumin Arts, we are proud to introduce our hand-painted Low Poly Tiger, a sculpture where the digital age and the forest-dwelling traditions of central India share a single body.
Where Two Worlds Collide
Low polygon design belongs to the language of video games, 3D modelling and contemporary sculpture. It reduces a form to its essence, a tiger built from planes and angles instead of fur and curves. It is clean, modern and unmistakably of this moment.
Then the brush touches it.
Gond art, born among the Gond people of central India, has always seen the world as alive. Trees hold spirits, fish swim through the branches, and every creature is a story. Its signature dots, dashes and flowing lines give each surface a living pulse. Here, that pulse runs across the tiger's geometric planes. Branches climb its shoulders, birds and fish drift across its flanks, and thousands of tiny dots ripple over its body like light through leaves.
No Two Alike
Every piece is painted entirely by hand, and every stroke is deliberate. Our tigers come in a range of moods:
•Earthy terracotta, alive with trees, fish and fruit in vivid colour
•Midnight black, where bright creatures glow against the dark
•Bold crimson, patterned with delicate blooms in black and white
Because the paint follows the angles of the form, each sculpture is one of a kind. You will not find another exactly like it.
A Collector's Piece
For the discerning collector, this is more than décor. It is a conversation between past and future, a way to hold a living tradition in a form that fits a modern home. Placed on a shelf, console or pedestal, it commands attention without demanding it.
Our collection also includes small elephants, a cozy cat and a rabbit, all in the same low poly aesthetic and painted with the same patience and devotion. Together they make a menagerie as playful as it is refined.
Own a Piece of the Fusion
Tradition survives when it is allowed to evolve. Each Gond-painted sculpture supports that evolution, keeping a precious art form relevant while giving it a bold new canvas.
Explore the full collection on the Rumin Arts website, and bring home a tiger that carries centuries in its stripes.
I can also put this in a file if you'd like. I used "tiger" throughout, but the black and red pieces read as panthers, so you may want to adjust the wording.
